Questions people ask
Does my document get uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole Bench — reading, merging, signing, exporting — runs inside your knife, on your machine. There is no server, so there is nothing for your document to be sent to. Pull out your network cable and it works exactly the same, which is rather the point.
Can it edit the text inside a PDF, like a word processor?
No, and it doesn't pretend to. A PDF is positioned glyphs rather than a document you can reflow — even the big paid tools struggle with it. The Bench does the quick fixes people actually reach for: merge, reorder, rotate, delete, sign, and strip metadata. To rewrite the words, go back to whatever made the original.
What does 'strip metadata' actually remove?
The quiet passengers: the author name, the title, the software that made the file, the timestamps. Tick the box before you export and the Bench clears them, so the document you send carries only what's on the page — not a record of who made it, when, or with what.
